Using Hypnosis for childbirth is teaching yourself deep self-hypnosis skills to help you relax, enjoy and fully participate in your child's birth.  You will learn many skills for entering hypnosis and deepening your relaxation, as well as confidence building cues and techniques for eliminating pain and fear from childbirth.

It is NOT sleeping through your birth, being immobilized or giving up control.

Using the Hypnobabies method, women experience:

• A more relaxed and comfortable pregnancy


• Shorter labors


• Fewer drugs or no drugs at all


• Elimination of the Fear/Tension/Pain syndrome

The Hypnobabies program is taught in series of six weekly classes, with a maximum of five couples per class. It is suggested that our Hypnomommies be between five and seven months pregnant at the time of their Hypnobabies Class, although any time is fine to enroll!  Classes are taught in Alexandria, Virginia and both private and group classes are available. 

Students are taught real, medical hypnosis and are expected to practice on their own, outside of class, to continue to develop the tools they have learned to have a positive and beautiful birth. Each class is approximately three hours long and covers a variety of topics including:

• How hypnosis works


• Nutrition and prenatal exercise


• Choices in healthcare


• Creating a birthplan


• The stages of birth


• Several sessions of hypnosis related directly to your birthing time.
